Hi! Welcome to WARDS! We are Lauren and Tom, 4th generation owners of WARDS - Carpets. Flooring. Interiors.
We are so proud to call Lytham St Annes our home having both grown up in Fairhaven and having gone to the same school (although we didn't know each other then!). We now live in Wrea Green with our two chatter box children, Jackson and Piper and our beautiful, blonde bombshell puppy, Mabel. Tom is an experienced retailer having worked with a number of large national brands in both buying and operations and Lauren spent over 17 years working in marketing and public relations for worldwide clients, before taking the helm at WARDS.
Spare time involves golf and rugby for the boys, dancing (for Piper not Lauren) and baking for the girls and lots of walks with Mabel in the sublime Fylde Coast!

Flooring is literally in our blood!
Founded in 1945 by Jack & May Ward, Wards Carpets Ltd came to the Fylde Coast offering specialist and luxury flooring options to Lancashire that had not been so accessible prior to WW11. Jack retired in 1957 at which time his son William and wife Marjorie took the business forward by relocating the store to North Crescent in St Annes. Wards Carpets now featured a large impressive showroom and broadloom centre on two floors.
During the mid eighties William's son Martin, wife Karen and Martin's sister Janet steered the business into a new era by expanding the product range beyond carpets to include wood, laminate and vinyl flooring. Martin also introduced Wards Carpets to national buying groups to further expand product ranges and maximize the price point benefits to the client. In fact Martin stood a term as Chairman for one buying group and was a board member for many years. Today we are proud to be part of the UK's premier buying group, Flooring One.
The present day sees Martin's daughter Lauren and husband Tom take the reins having completed an exciting redevelopment of the St Annes showroom as well as launching an online rug and homewares store all the while continuing to offer the best quality and customer care that WARDS - Carpets. Flooring. Interiors. (as we are now known) has provided for the past 79 years.
